Rakkez Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2026

Rakkez ("the extension") is a Chrome extension made by Smart Nozom that turns your new tab into a focus board. This policy explains what data the extension handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.

In short

your board, notes, tasks, settings, links and stats stay on your device. We only receive data when you choose to join the members program, send feedback, or answer the uninstall survey, plus one anonymous request when you install the extension.

1. Data that stays on your device

The following is stored only in your browser (Chrome's extension storage and IndexedDB) and is never sent to us or anyone else:

  • Your board content: drawings, notes, text, checklists and their formatting.
  • Your settings, theme, backgrounds and quick links.
  • Your Pomodoro sessions, completed tasks and statistics.

If you use Chrome Sync, Chrome itself may sync some extension settings through your Google account under Google's own privacy policy. You can export your board to a backup file at any time; that file stays wherever you save it.

The extension does not read the content of the websites you visit, does not track your browsing, and does not contain analytics, advertising or tracking code.

2. Data we receive

a. Anonymous install request

When you install the extension, it sends one request to our server (apps.smartnozom.com) containing a randomly generated install ID and your interface language. We use it only to reserve a membership number for you for a limited time. The install ID is random and is not linked to your identity unless you later join the members program.

b. Membership program (optional)

If you choose to join or restore your membership, we receive:

  • Your email address, to send you a one-time verification code.
  • The one-time code you type in the extension, which is sent back to our server only to confirm that the email address is yours.
  • Your interface language.

After verification we store your email, your membership number, your language and the verification date. We use your email only to manage your membership and, in the future, to link it to an account so founding-member benefits can be honored. We do not send newsletters or marketing emails without your separate consent.

c. Feedback (optional)

If you send feedback, we receive the message type, your message, your email only if you choose to add it, the extension version and your interface language.

d. Uninstall survey (optional)

When you uninstall the extension, Chrome opens a short survey page. If you choose to answer, we receive the reason you selected, an optional comment, the extension version and your interface language.

e. Technical data

Our server sees your IP address when the extension contacts it. We use it only temporarily to prevent abuse (rate limiting). We do not store IP addresses or browser details with your membership, feedback or survey data.

3. Optional browser permissions

  • Notifications: only if you turn on system notifications for the Pomodoro timer. Notifications are created locally on your device.
  • Site icons (favicon): only if you turn on real site icons for quick links. Icons are read from Chrome's local cache on your device; nothing is sent to us.

You can turn these off at any time, which gives the permission back to Chrome.

4. How we use data

We use the data above only to:

  • Reserve, verify and maintain your membership number.
  • Read and respond to your feedback and improve the extension.
  • Understand why people uninstall, so we can improve.
  • Protect our service from abuse.

We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the service:

  • Server hosting for apps.smartnozom.com, and secure backups of that server.
  • Brevo, to deliver verification-code emails.
  • Telegram, to notify the developer when new feedback or survey answers arrive. These notifications include the feedback content (and your email, if you added it to your feedback).

These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

6. Data retention

  • Verification codes expire after 10 minutes and are deleted afterwards.
  • Unclaimed membership reservations expire, and their records are deleted within about 30 days.
  • Membership records are kept until you ask us to delete them.
  • Feedback and survey answers are kept as long as they are useful for improving the extension, and are deleted on request.

7. Your choices and rights

  • You can use all the board, timer and stats features without joining the members program or sending us anything.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your membership data or feedback by contacting us at the email below. If you delete your membership, its number is retired and not given to anyone else.
  • Uninstalling the extension removes the data stored on your device.

8. Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will let users know inside the extension.
